Airbag Safety Tips

air bag safety car crash

We handle a lot of auto accidents and injuries here at Normand | Higham. It’s important to note that some injuries can be avoidable. Here are some important tips for maximizing safety while in the car:

Allow at least 10 inches between your head or chest and the steering wheel or passenger airbag.
Passengers should always sit with their backs flat against the seat and both feet on the floor.
Children should ride in a properly installed, age and weight appropriate child safety seat/booster. Anyone under 12 should ride in the back seat.
Adults and children should never lean against doors, because door mounted airbags need room to inflate properly without causing injury
If your airbag light stays on, it may indicates a faulty system. Have it checked out ASAP!
