Don't Let State Liquor Stores' Discounts Cost You! Avoid a DUI!
/Although the NH Liquor and Wine Outlet Stores are offering10%-15% off various purchases now through May 21st; it is most unlikely that the State of New Hampshire will offer a similar discount on the fine payment resulting from a DUI conviction. The minimum mandatory fine for a standard first offense is $500, with a "penalty assessment" of 24%, bringing the total cost to you (just for hte fine - not including attorney's fees, higher insurance premiums, plus other costs and expenses) to $620. Of course you will lose your license for an absolute minimum of three months, just long enough to miss out on the best summer road trip weather.
Of course if you are into savings, do not miss out on the one stop shopping opportunities of my personal favorite Court in the State, Hillsboro District Court, where you can save money at the NH State Liquor and Wine Outlet, get convicted of a DUI, and have lunch at the Subway (the Hillsboro District Court is in the same shopping strip as a NH State Liquor and Wine Outlet and a Subway) all in one afternoon.
If your summer plans land you a DUI charge, you should consult with an attorney in order to protect your rights and interests. Most attorneys will offer at least a brief free consultation to discuss your legal matter.
