Have you checked your insurance coverage this year?

Have you checked your insurances to make certain that you and your family are covered this year?

Other than an injury in your home, the most frequent cause of injury is the result of an automobile accident.  In addition to sustaining physical injuries, auto accidents frequently disrupt your entire family and may place you and your family in financial jeopardy.  For many of us, even a few weeks out of a job will pose significant hardship.

While we frequently are able to obtain monetary recovery from the insurance companies of careless drivers, causing our clients’ injuries and losses, we find that many drivers are either uninsured or underinsured.

You have an opportunity to protect you and your family through adequate uninsured motorist coverage.  We recommend limits of at least $250,000.  Additionally, frequently for about $200 per year, you and your family can have an umbrella policy providing you with up to a million dollars in uninsured motorist coverage.

This type of coverage works this way:

  1. Who is covered? You, your family members and other individuals riding in your vehicle.
  2. What instances are covered?  Injuries from auto collisions, even auto-pedestrian collisions if you or a child, for example, is hurt as a pedestrian from an uninsured or underinsured motorist?
  3. When would this coverage cover me?  When a careless driver causes injury and has no insurance or insufficient insurance to cover your losses.

Check your insurance coverage today.  Frequently our clients feel that they have “full coverage,” but have inadequate coverage to cover their personal losses when they are harmed through the acts of a careless driver.
