Warmer Weather and DUI's – What's the Connection?
/As summer finally gets underway in New England, and the weather starts to warm up, there are a number of activities that can be DUI pitfalls.
The American Pastime: Beer and baseball make for a natural combination; however, if you are going to be enjoying a few drinks at a ball park near you, it may be wise to plan ahead. Nothing can ruin a great day at the ball park faster than spending a night in the drunk tank and facing a DUI charge.
Concerts: As the weather warms up, many music fans head to their favorite venue to catch a live music performance. If you are going to wet your whistle while attending a concert or music festival, use caution; you can’t clap in cuffs.
Backyard Barbeques: Whether a small gathering or a large party, and whether BYOB or not, many adult beverages tend to be consumed at a barbeque or other outdoor party or gathering. Have fun, but be mindful; don’t let a DUI put a damper on any of your sunny day activities.
Boats: Whether it is Margaritas, Sangria, beer, or otherwise, boats and booze are a common summertime combination. Be aware on the water: The New Hampshire Marine Patrol is trained to detect impaired boaters. It is important to note that if you are found guilty of a DUI for operating a boat under the influence, not only will you lose your privileges to operate a boat, but you will also lose your privilege to operate motor vehicles, including motorcycles.
In short, when enjoying any springtime or summertime activity, don’t let one good time spoil your summer.
