SSDI Awards | Back Problems
/Facts: Claimant was 48 years old, he is a former truck driver who has been out of work since 2009. He suffers from severe diabetes and back problems. He also had a stroke in 2003. He was denied benefits as the Social Security Administration found that his condition was not severe enough to prevent him from substantial gainful activity. We submitted an On the Record request noting that the claimant’s conditions have worsened and as a result of his back problems he has difficulty walking and many nights he can not get up to use the bathroom. The On the Record was denied and a hearing was held. At the hearing the claimant testified regarding his impairments and how they limit him.
Case Result: After the hearing a fully favorable decision was issued and the claimant received retroactive benefits totaling $14,000 and monthly benefits in the amount of $1100.
