/Facts: The claimant was 44 with an alleged onset of disability of September 7, 2010. Prior to her stopping work, she worked as an education/outreach coordinator. She is well educated and had a degree in criminal justice. She had severe chronic depression, diabetes, sleep apnea and PTSD. She had missed a significant amount of time at work because of these conditions. She also had multiple inpatient hospitalization because of her mental disorders. She was initially denied by the Social Security Administration as they determined that her conditions were not severe enough prevent her from substantial gainful activity. She retained us to help her with the appeal. We submitted an On the Record Decision requesting that benefits be awarded without the need for a hearing as she continued to suffer from severe depression and at the time of the On the Record she was in an inpatient facility.
Case Result: The On the Record was approved and she was awarded retroactive benefits in the amount of $6100 with a monthly benefit of $1100.
